Description: The Shoulder ScanLab module begins with a review of pertinent shoulder anatomy and the importance of the patient history and clinical exam. Transducer selection and patient positioning is shown for evaluation of the subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus and teres minor muscles and tendons, and the glenohumeral joint. Dynamic maneuvers to aid in diagnosis of the suspected pathology are demonstrated. Synchronous capture of the scanning technique and real-time ultrasound imaging provide a unique method of teaching MSK scanning techniques of the shoulder. Technical tips are offered throughout to improve structure identification and image optimization.
