Fundamentals of MSK Ultrasound eCourse

Key in MSK ultrasound imaging is familiarity with the detailed anatomy of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Each section begins by covering normal anatomy, followed by a ScanLab (or multiple ScanLab modules depending on the area of interest) demonstrating the technique by which to evaluate the sonographic appearance of normal anatomy. The pathomechanism of acute and/or chronic injury or disease is covered in pathology modules with case examples of abnormal sonographic appearance to aid in the recognition of musculoskeletal pathology.

Sections include:

  • Basic Biomechanics of Ligaments, Tendons, and Joints
  • Soft Tissue Characterization
  • Shoulder
  • Elbow
  • Forearm, Wrist, Hand, and Fingers
  • Knee
  • Hip
  • Lower Leg, Ankle, and Foot
